It's A Miracle!

And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand:  and there was the hiding of his power.

“...and there was the hiding of his power.”

I chose this Old Testament phrase to remind us of the strategy that God chose for His son, Jesus and His earthly ministry.  Jesus never performed miracles on demand.  Even when the Pharisees demanded a sign, he refused!

I often wonder what would Jesus do if He were here with us today?  Look for front page coverage?  Maybe his own talk show?  How about a book signing event?

Miracles always have two effects on observers:
  1. 1. Those who love the Truth and the Light are encouraged and reminded of God’s goodness towards us.
  2. 2. Those that hate the Truth and the Light seem to get angry and are antagonized by them...

Remember:  when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, those that were plotting against Him added Lazarus to their hit-list. (John 12:10)  Jesus chose to hide God’s power from the hecklers and reveal it to those who believed. (Mark 16:17)

My friends, please don’t equate “power” with “crowds”!  you can posses God’s Power and be concealed from the public view.  God may choose to reveal His “power” through you, but choose to keep you hidden from the media.

Press On!

Listen to God's Response

Yes, from the time of the first existence of day and from this day forth I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand.  I will work, and who can hinder or reverse it?

Answered prayers are always a result of Divine Intervention.  But waiting for that answer to come can often cause spiritual tension and emotional exhaustion, and when the answer is delayed, negative circumstances tend to produce anxiety and unbelief.
Questions like:
  1. “Can God see me?”
  2. “Does God not hear me?”
  3. “Does He even care?!?”
Listen to God’s response... “I will work...” “I will intervene on your behalf...”

Even though at this very moment a thousand voices might be screaming out to you that your negative situation will ever turn out for good... but they are all lies spoken by our enemy, who loves to harass and cast shadows of “Doom & Despair” upon our hearts and minds.

“I will work...” is a promise that builds our Faith and confidence.  It calms our heart and steadies our hands.

“...and who can hinder or reverse it?” lets us know that no earthly or devilish force can keep God’s power from coming to us.  You might as well stand on the beach and try to keep the ocean tide from coming in with a broom than to think that our enemy can hinder the blessings of God from coming to us!

Stand firm in the Faith, my friends...

MMMMMMMMMM, Beefy!

Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
    like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me

Psalms 131:2 shows us the progressive steps moving from an attitude of just getting stuff from the Lord, into a lifestyle of simply wanting to be near Him and in His Presence.
The key word in this verse is ‘weaned’... a weaned child no longer needs the daily routine of mom’s milk - but it was during that process that the mother was not only satisfying the hunger, she was also building a relationship between her and her baby - a relationship of love and affection was established!

The Apostle Peter spoke of us as a new born baby who desires the sincere milk of the Word (1 Peter 2:2); but the writer of Hebrews describes the difference between “babes” and “mature saints” who now feed on the solid food, the meat of the Word of God (Hebrews 5:12-14), a diet of Faith, Trust, Patience and Perseverance, just to name a few!  Solid food will require mastication (chewing) and meditation (digestion) in order to develop a strong, spiritual bodies!
Remember, milk produces fat and meat produces muscle - and if ever we needed strong, muscular, mature saints - that time is NOW!

Once we only sought the Lord for what He could give us or do for us, but now we seek Him for no other reason than just to be near Him!

Be Strong, my friends...

Blue Forty Two.... Blueee Forty Twooooo... Hut!

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:  because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Have you ever wondered why a football never goes flat during the game?  I mean, even while twenty-two huge men kick it, throw it and pounce on it... it never goes flat.  But you leave that same football in the back yard for a few days and it will start to lose air and eventually go flat.  Why?  I’m glad you asked...

A simple law of physics:
The greater the resistance against an object, the greater the internal pressure will be...

The same is true in our Christian walk.  The Power of the Holy Spirit residing in our hearts and lives is greater than all of the external pressures that come our way.

Today, you could list all of your opponents that seem to come against you and block your forward progress - and it might appear that you are being “passed, punted and piled-on” 24/7 but in reality, we are getting stronger!  We have been given buoyancy or the ability to “bounce back”.

Greater is the power within us, than the pressures “upon us”!

Until next week,
Pastor Jody
