He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, “to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Even though the two phrases, make ready and prepared are seemingly synonymous - in reality they have opposite meanings!
Make Ready describes the internal work fo Grace by the Holy Spirit developing in us:
- • Honesty
- • Integrity
- • Humility
- • Holiness
- • Obedience
He is also helping us maintain a positive attitude, even while we’re surrounded by negativity! The same Holy Spirit helps us overcome our emotional explosions that come about from bitterness, unforgiveness, hurts and wounds by someone we love.
Prepared describes the external work of Grace by the Holy Spirit:
- • The Body of Christ coming together in unity, harmony and agreement
- • Learning to “play well with others” is a crucial part in our success as a Church!
The great news is God is at work in our lives developing us, maturing us - giving us an “Extreme Makeover” by the work of the Holy Spirit. (Phillipians 2:13)
As the Bride of Christ, we are becoming more beautiful and graceful each and every day!
